In this video, I show three variations of an exercise to help build the ingredients you and your horse need to ride excellent turns. In a nice turn, your horse will carve the turn with their outside shoulder and will stand up away from the inside. They will 'fill up' the outside rein without bulging out, and will reach around the turn with the outside front leg without falling in. Often horses are better at one of those than the other, or will have difficulty transitioning from one direction or the other.
This video will give you two different exercises to address each quality, then will show a third variation that will help you even out a horse who chronically falls to one shoulder or the other. I think you will have fun with this! Horses and riders of a wide range of levels can benefit from doing this exercise!
