In this video, Karen demonstrates a technique she uses to help with a horse who doesn’t like to be touched or groomed. You can also use it for things like blanketing. Keep in mind that if a horse shows they dislike something, your first thought should be to investigate and see if there is a reason such as pain, injury, discomfort, etc.. I am happy to adjust things if they have a preference for which grooming tools I use, or how firm or softly I touch them. This technique can be used along with those other adjustments. It can create a change in their state of mind that, for some horses, can be extremely successful.
