Karen coaches a student through a serpentine exercise at the trot for the purpose of gaining more throughness and suppleness. Suppleness is indicated by the ability to smoothly go from one bend to another. This one of Karen’s favorite exercises for ALL horses and riders. You will see a rider learning about this exercise for the first time and will see the process of going from merely changing directions, to really using the exercise to gain a gymnastic benefit.
This video is for anyone playing with their working or collected gaits who feels their horse is tight or rigid in their body, or who has trouble smoothly going from one bend to another. (Riding 17 min)
