Rebalancing Through Raising The Neck - June 2018
On Forehand
•
19m
Karen rides a student's horse to help her become lighter on the forehand. You will hear Karen as she narrates what she is doing in the moment. This technique can be very valuable for horses that tend to carry their necks low, but without good technique it can make horses want to pull down even more. This video will show you how to stay 'light and bright' and to remember to give the horse opportunities to rest between sessions of work. You will see how this slight rebalancing, when done well, can increase engagement and freedom of movement. This technique is good for horses and riders who already have a degree of self carriage, but the balance becomes on the forehand.
